What Exactly Silver Metal Clay - Intensive Course is ?
It's a full 5 day workshop designed for a very small group of people with no previous experience in jewelry making or the use of Silver Metal Clay, but who want to gain a lot of new skills in a short time and even start their own creative business.
Each day, you'll learn progressively new techniques. By the end of the program, you'll be totally comfortable to work with Silver Clay and other materials.
During this course, you'll finish at least ten different projects.

Starting with a simple charm or pendant

A pair of earrings with attached cz stones

A simple molded charm or pendant

A piece with a natural stone

A pendant or a ring with a glass cabochon

A replica of a leaf

A hollow form piece using cork clay to make it and, decorate it with syringe

DAY ONE

How to handle and store the clay

How to roll in an even thickness and how to texture the clay

How to cut it in different shapes

How to punch holes
-
How to dry and refine your pieces

How to add cubic zirconia stones on your pieces

How to make a simple molded piece

How to fire your pieces with a butane torch.

How to add endings and a clasp on a chain
DAY TWO

How to design a piece and create a place for a natural stone using a bezel wire

How to make glass cabochons ( basic glass fusing techniques )

How to use the silver paste to create a replica of a natural leaf
DAY THREE

All about rings/how to determine a ring size correctly

How to make a thin ring band
-
How to make a wide textured ring band with cz stones and other embellishements

How to set readymade prongs on your rings in order to attach a natural stone or silver wire to attach a pearl on it

How to utilize a glass cabochon to create a piece of jewelry
DAY FOUR

How to make a hollow form using cork clay and decorate it with syringe and clay

How to make a hollow lentil bead with a glass inside
-
How to make your own textures to decorate the lentil bead

How to flash set small cz stones on your lentil bead

how to create a bail for your lentil bead
DAY FIVE

How to set natural stones in the prongs and how to glue safely the peals

How to set a natural stone after firing your piece

Q. How many people will be in the class?
A. The maximum I will accept is 5.
Q. I never in my life designed anything and I feel I'm not handy or able to think and act artistically.
A. I' ll be there for you with feedback, ideas and insights to help you move ahead. My teaching experience will be exclusively focused on you and your efforts.
Q. I will visit your island for holidays but I can't attend any of your scheduled sessions; any chance for me?
A. Yes of course! Just contact us with the date which is more convenient for you. We'll do our best to fit something during your visit.
Q. I have attended some evening classes but the pace was so slow. Is this course more efficient ?
A. I am glad you're asking this question. I know exactly how it feels; I attended evening silversmithing classes and for two months I was trying to make a ring. In my workshops, I guarantee you that by the end of the very first day you will leave wearing your creations.
Q. I don't own a studio; will I need one to work in after the course ?
A. No prob!! You don't need it! A small corner on your kitchen table is more than enough.
Q. Where can I find tools and supplies after the course to continue practising ?
A. You're in the right place. We can provide you with everything you will need through our shop, all at the best prices.
Q. What is the 'private tuition' ?
A. If you select the private tuition, you're booking the studio and the tutor for the whole day. The course content is not fixed, and will be adjusted to your needs and your level of expertise.
